Fans of Winnipeg’s A&V Drive-In got some great news this week. It’s relocating after two decades at 1200 Chevrier Boulevard. Up until Thursday, A&V was simply going to close its doors later this summer. But now, its new home will be inside the Fort Rouge Curling Club at 750 Daly Street South. The worry was real. As one A&V regular put it to me in a text…” Hey Hal, have you heard of a place called A&V on Chevrier? One of the last actual “diners” still around. It’s closing Aug. 25, signaling the end of an era. After 20 years, they are calling it quits. Best breakfast in the city and their burgers are amazing.
The switch to the new location happens on Oct. 1, 2023. Until then, you can visit Angelo Cavadas and his wife Vicky on Chevrier where they continue to serve amazing comfort food including their Fat Boy with chili and a huge clubhouse. All the best to them in their new spot…

An opportunity to help plan our club's future!
On Thursday, May 18th, we invite you to join us in the Dan Hildebrand Lounge at FRCC (750 Daly Street S.) - 7:00 PM.
We will start with a brief Annual General Meeting. Following the AGM, we will present a snapshot of the State of the Fort Rouge Curling Club - where we are and where we feel we are headed. We also look forward to the opportunity to update you on some recent projects as well as some key decisions made recently by the Board of Directors.
Finally - the most important part of the evening - we encourage you to bring along your ideas and help shape the future of FRCC. All ideas are appreciated and will be considered.
The intent is an open forum with topics for discussion coming from all those in attendance. Some themes that come to mind include:
Curling Experience
Curling Facility
Attract and Welcome New Curlers from our Communities.
Volunteerism - Our Future Leaders!
To help plan for the event, including a light snack provided by our new cafe operators, we ask that you please RSVP if you plan on attending by clicking the link below.
