While we do not believe we are truly ‘post-pandemic’, life is resuming and looking a lot like it did at the beginning of 2020... We will be planning to run our program ‘like normal’ but will continue to monitor public health orders and make any adjustments as needed. Any refunds required will be subject to our registration policy.

We will offer refresher clinics and more detailed clinics for beginners at the start of the program before creating teams for the group. Parent/Adult involvement on ice is STRONGLY encouraged in the beginning and welcomed throughout the program. Participants (junior and adult) are expected to have clean indoor shoes, a broom in good condition, and are recommended to wear warm, stretchy, layered clothing. We recommend beginners use a step-on slider. We will have some sliders available to borrow.

    Junior Season: October 15, 2022 – March 25, 2023

    NO CURLING: October 8, November 12, December 3, 24, 31 and January 14

We will plan a Friends and Family Day or two throughout the season, and an end-of-season wind-up in April. Dates and details TBD

    Fee: $130 + $10 building improvement fund = $140.00/junior

    Registration Deadline - September 28, 2022

    Fort Rouge Junior Curling Program

The Fort Rouge Curling Club (FRCC) Junior Program is widely known in the Winnipeg curling community as the program where young curlers are first introduced to the sport of Curling.  Our grassroots Junior Program has been in existence at our current location since the 1950's and we continue to develop and introduce new curlers to the game.

Our Junior Program and facility provide a safe environment for young curlers to learn the game of curling, develop their skills, learn teamwork and leadership skills as well as developing friendships with other young curlers.

The FRCC is known both locally and internationally as a World Class Facility, and several of the World's most elite teams are Associates of the FRCC and practice at our facility regularly.  The Board of Directors have and continue to make significant investments in the facility.

    The Details - Saturday Afternoons - 4:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

This program runs from October to April each season, with approximately 20 weeks of curling.  During the first two weeks of the season, the league Coordinator and other volunteers work directly with brand-new curlers and provide on-ice instruction to teach the basic fundamentals and the rules of the game.  Teams are then created by the Coordinator and the teams compete against one another for the regular season, followed by playoffs.  We have a holiday celebration in December and a Windup dinner at the end of the season where trophies and prizes are awarded to the winners.

    • Ages 9 - 20 (born between Jan 1, 2002 and Dec 31, 2013)
    • No curling experience required
